In 2001, White Mud Trading Co. was formed by a group of 48 farmers/shareholders, who purchased the local elevator after prior ownership by the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. It is located in the community of Frontier Saskatchewan, where it serves local farmers with its 6000 metric tonne storage capacity with export standard cleaning capabilities. The trading area stretches to the U.S. border in the south, the Frenchman River Valley in the north, as well as 30 miles to the east and west.

In February of 2003, White Mud Trading Co. Inc. expanded its services with the construction of a separate seed cleaning plant, designed to produce seed quality product including cereal grains, pulses, and specialty crops.
Expansion in 2008 allowed White Mud Trading Co. to better serve organic clients. This entailed the construction of 6 110 tonne hopper bins along the railway to contain organic and specialty crops, exclusive of the main elevator.
The office was the focus of the 2014 expansion, adding three new offices to the elevator to better accommodate staff.
In 2015, the cleaning line was updated in order to improve efficiency and quality.
